"Memories Ad-Lib" Joe Williams & Count Basie

I found myself singing in Joe Williams style voice all day today after giving this a few listens. Standards done right, without that modern recording sound that taints so many new recordings of standards by new talent.

You Send It is acting up again. Track #2 won't download.
Enough of that. I had the privelege of meeting the Count in the early 70's. Spent some time backstage with him and some band members. He asked me,"Where am I?" He showed me his touring schedule for the year. Over 200 dates, all one nighters. Later on a friend of mine from the band said Basie wasn't kidding. He was that tired. I look at today's pampered stars and....I'll leave it there.
Thanks for the post. Basie has always been a favorite.

What a difference 24 hours makes. Tonight the link to track #2 works. To try and answer your question about the date..This is from Ebay:
CD and artwork in excellent condition. Very hard to find CD of excellent 1958 session. CD has been out of print for many many years.

Thank you very much. You Send It seems to have it's share of deliquent behavior, but it's not as bad as SendMeFile or whatever the fuck it's called.
